The Departments of the Treasury, Labor, and Health and Human Services issued the Transparency in Coverage final rules (85 FR 72158) on November 12, 2020. The rules require certain group health plans and health insurance issuers to disclose certain pricing information. The plan or issuer must disclose in-network provider rates, historical out-of-network allowed amounts and billed charges for covered items and services on a publicly available website using machine-readable files (MRFs).
