Ruby Hedin Recognized for Unwavering Support at Fort Hood
At Magellan Health our Military & Family Life Counselors (MFLC) are compassionate about helping those who serve this country. We are also looking for more people who are willing to help serve those who have served. Ruby Hedin is just one example of the fantastic work our MFLC Counselors do!
Ruby Hedin joined the Military & Family Life Counselor (MFLC) program nearly ten years ago and has served as an embedded MFLC at locations in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and numerous locations in the U.S.
In August, she completed an assignment serving as an embedded MFLC within the 48th Chemical Brigade at Fort Hood, Texas, where she received an award for her service. During her assignment she gave several presentations including communication in relationships. When the deputy commander attended the presentation, he was impressed. On several occasions following, he told Ruby that he would never forget what he had learned.
As Ruby’s rotation ended, the deputy commander said he was sad to see her go and that she would be missed by the brigade. He commended her publicly, stating that “During Ruby’s time on assignment here, she has spent time communicating with both the command and the soldiers as well. Not only has she impacted the soldiers, but she also impacted me. She has taught me how to talk to my wife differently with just the one presentation I attended. She has made a massive impact over the past year.” Turning to Ruby, he emphasized, “You have made a significant difference.”
The plaque inscription reads: “Thank you for your service and unwavering support to the soldiers and families of the 48th Chemical Brigade. Your expertise and efforts directly impacted the HHC, 48th Chemical Family Readiness Group. It was an honor to have you as our Military and Family Life Counselor. We wish you the best of luck on all of your future endeavors.”
Congratulations on being recognized for your outstanding service, Ruby!
