Job DescriptionJob Summary
Performs all functions of a registered pharmacist. Complies with all federal and state rules and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy. Complies with all corporate and facility standard operating procedures, policies, guidelines and work instructions.
Reviews, receives/verifies new patient orders and documents prior to dispensing. Processes and checks medications, supplies and equipment prior to dispensing from the pharmacy. Communicate with physician’s office as related to prescription orders and drug utilization. Provides consultation and answers inquiries from patients, patient’s agent, physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding medications and their use.
Participates in mandatory on-call rotation.
Adheres to organizational policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with federal laws, state laws and standards of practice which govern the profession of pharmacy. Maintains pharmacy records in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
Maintains clinical skills and knowledge of pharmacotherapy by reviewing the literature, continuing education and any company provided in-services.
Completes all mandatory company provided on-line courses. Attends and completes all employee development courses.
Field of Study: Pharmacy.
Experience: Experience: 3-5 years.
Job Specific: Job Specific: Minimum of 3 years recent experience in specialty or in home infusion setting.
An equivalent combination of experience and education is acceptable.
Other: Ability to lift 10-20 pounds.
Computer Skills: MS Office applications.
Licenses, Certifications, etc.: Active registered Florida pharmacist license in good standing.
Education: Doctor of Pharmacy.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Spanish speaking.
