Makes recommendations to the Vice President of Strategic Sourcing in the formation and execution of a risk based Vendor Management program, and develop long term strategies necessary to optimize cost, performance, risk mitigation and build stronger and more strategic vendor relationships. Will work closely with internal business owners to manage and administer the relationships for key vendors including participating in sourcing activities, measuring, monitoring and reporting performance levels, completing vendor scorecards, conducting vendor business review meetings, vendor oversight activities including audits as necessary, escalating and resolving customer services issues, performing ongoing risk monitoring and ensuring proper off-boarding of vendors no longer being utilized.

This position will also lead the company's Supplier Diversity Program and use their expertise to identify, expand and accelerate the use of diverse business enterprises (e.g., Minority-owned, Women-owned, Small Disadvantaged, Veteran-owned, HUB Zone business enterprises, etc.) for all business units at Magellan Health. This role establishes strategy, leads program development, responds to client RFP requirements, and provides on-going management and reporting activities of Diverse Suppliers. The position is a high profile role and represents the company at various public events.

Role will apply knowledge and industry experience to make program enhancement recommendations of best practices to maximize the value of provider/vendor relationships and contribute to success of ongoing strategic provider/vender relationships.

Essential Functions


•Develops and deploys the overall risk-based Vendor Management program.
•Develops, manages and grows the Supplier Diversity Program.
•Establishes vendor governance framework in consultation with associated stakeholders.
•Analyzes and responds to client RFPs and contracts containing Supplier Diversity requirements.
•Works with Sales and Operations to strategize and create plans to meet those requirements.
•Assesses risk associated with product/service being purchased, and the vendors being considered.
•Compiles data, create and file all required client Supplier Diversity reports.
•Participates in RFPs and support the due diligence and evaluation process for new potential vendors as needed.
•Takes a leadership role to develop and meet client and corporate Supplier Diversity spending goals.
•Assists in establishing appropriate SLAs and metrics for key vendor relationships.
•Informs functional departments of contractual rights and obligations to ensure maximum value can be extracted from the contract.
•Manages key vendors as assigned including; monitoring contractual requirements, monitors and evaluates vendors on an ongoing basis to maintain quality and compliance with accreditation and contractual requirements.
•Develops and monitors vendor dashboards and scorecards to track, measure and evaluate vendor performance.
•Proactively plans, problem solves and completes root cause analysis, and continuous monitoring of processes including Key Performance Indicators, internal dashboard reports and other business management tools to be able to monitor overall performance.
•Develops mitigation and corrective action plans to address risk and service issues as identified and follows through to resolution.
•Performs site visits and monitoring audits as necessary.
•Plans and conducts formal periodic vendor performance reviews with stakeholders and vendors.
•Provides an escalation point to resolve contractual issues.
•Maintains knowledge on current service provider services and capabilities and industry outsourcing/contracting trends.
•Establishes policies and procedures for the risk-based Vendor Management program and monitoring activities.
•Ensures enterprise-wide needs for due diligence, risk assessment and continuing vendor monitoring are being accomplished.
•Presents strategies and recommendations to leadership team on ways to reduce costs and increase quality.

Minimum Requirements:
Education: BS/BA in business administration
Experience: 10+ years vendor management
